My Town Friday Shoot Out: Windows & Doors

I'm back, MTFSO friends!! These pictures were taken in Armada, MI, just 20 minutes north of my town. It's a great place to visit for that old "farm town" feel. I love to go up there for produce. These pictures are of the "down town" area and at an abandoned home in the same area.

these are great - I look forward to next weeks aged and weathered, more.
the door with the 'styelist? (is that what they are called, the glass above the door?) you can tell that it is from the 30s - art deco period - wonderful arn't they.

I love that top one - it looks fantastic in black and white.

Ooooh...you've shared some very nice, eye appealing shots here.

Thank you :)

Your pictures are wonderful. I like how the old weathered shots contrast with the more modern windows and doors, from black and white to soft, warm colours. Michigan has some hidden treasures to visit. Thoughtfully captured, Ellisa. Thanks so much!

Of course, the stained glass is my favorite. Good luck being back in the workforce.

I could spend hours taking pictures of abandoned houses and old junk. Great pics you have here!

WELL DONE!

I am familiar with Armada - and you did an excellent job capturing that old town feel.

Love all these...

The derby my cousin drove in this year was somewhere around Imlay City. Last year it was near Port Austin. Years and years and YEARS ago, he drove in the Richmond derby.

But, he did go to the Armada fair. He told me about it.

At the derbys (now anyways, the first one, I was far too young) I am his unofficial photographer. :)His friends didn't know who I was and no one was speaking to me and I photographed the car. They all thought I was from the newspapers! Hah! talk about an ego boost!

That first shot, the owner is like me, I don't care how the house looks, with paints peeling off. The important thing is the house is warm inside.

Tonight, I am hosting 20 teen agers for their dessert run of the progressive dinner. I told my husband, if I worry about how my house looks, I will never have visitors.

BTW, I am renting, I don't want to bother the landlord too much about renovating.

I think your shots are such good compositions. I like the peeling paint, b&w ones, very very nice.

A contrast of old and new. Nice job.

Great detail shots. I really liked them all, but the first two were stunning.

Beautiful choices and beautiful photos. The windows develop such character and texture as they age.
